Facebook Bugs, Facebook Exposes User Emails For 30 Minutes
Last night Facebook had a security glitch that exposed the private email addresses of some users. This follows a similar problem in February when some users had their inbox exposed to other people. Several users posted upset tweets on Twitter about the situation – some limited to the very succinct “not fixed, wtf.” The problem is apparently fixed now, but the issue is that some Facebook users have their email addresses marked as private in their profile settings, and yet other users were able to see this information.
Valleywag, who says that the problem lasted for around 30 minutes, has screenshots of tweets related to this incident, along with some much angrier, NSFW quotes off of one Facebook user’s Wall.
Looks like it’s not enough for users to take action to prevent Facebook accounts from being hacked when the site is exposing user details for them. Mashable received a confirmation email from Facebook saying that this was a bug in a regular code push. With repeat incidents such as this, it’s obvious that the company’s QA (Quality Assurance) process is lacking, but with 400M+ users to satisfy, and infrastructure to constantly scale up, it’s no doubt a challenging task.

Facebook Blocks Google’s Friend Connect. There Goes the Open Web
Facebook (Facebook) is all about openess, right? And privacy. It’s a balance, or something. Oftentimes it’s a tricky balance, but Facebook has self-instituted standards to live up to. And those standards say that Google’s (Google) new Friend Connect is evil (in so many words).
As Friend Connect supposedly shares user data in a way that circumvents total disclosure to all users involved, Facebook has stated that Friend Connect (google friend connect) does not comply with its standards for collecting user data and redistributing it across the web. The result? Friend Connect’s access to Facebook has been suspended.
So much for the web platform coming to fruition in an easy, cooperative manner. Google still has Microsoft and Yahoo to compete with on the search level, but when it comes to the development of open standards, MySpace (MySpace), Facebook and Google have become the battling trio.
Between Friend Connect, Facebook Connect, and MySpace’s Data Availability on top of existing open platforms, the race is on to become the dominant, most widely adopted platform for such open standards. It’s quite dizzying at this point, and not so cooperative after all. Facebook has stated that it’s reached out to Google in order to find a way in which to reach a satisfactory level of compliance, so hopefully that will happen soon. Google does, after all, have a burning desire to own the universe’s data.

Trick to Run Multiple Yahoo! Messenger on One Computer

Y!Multi v8 and v9 Instructions:
The version 8 patching program is NOT version specific, it will work with all versions of YM 8! All you need to do is launch the Y!Multi Messenger.exe file and then you can select to enable or disable the polygamy patch. Once its patched (either way) it will remain that way until changed again. The only time you will now use the Y!Multi Messenger.exe file is to change the actual patching, otherwise, you will now use the normal Yahoo Messenger icons.
Installation Instructions:
Before installing, please read ALL included documentation! Run the installation setup program to install Y!Multi Messenger. This will automatically install to C:Program FilesYahoo!Messenger.
